Guys...we’ve done it! Vanessa’s $500 vet bill has been paid. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just can’t tell you what it means to me, this community that we have. The generosity of your hearts. The compassion in your soul for a stranger. It makes me leaky eyed when I think about you. I am blessed. I can’t wait to give her the good news! And we will announce the winner of the Staycation tomorrow! Can’t wait! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Yesterday my neighbor Vanessa's dog was hit by a car. I don’t know how it happened. I’ve never seen Molly accidentally get out. It was horribly sad. Bryan, the teenage son was shaking so bad he could almost not dial the phone. We got them to MedVet, but Molly didn’t make it. She was so little. So sweet, lying there in my arms while they gathered up their stuff. My heart breaks for them.
Vanessa lost her husband and Bryan lost his dad just over a year ago. Too much loss. But also, I KNOW they are struggling to make ends meet. He was the primary earner. The $500 vet bill is astronomical for her. I know there are bigger problems to tackle out there in the world, but my spirituality says that you help the person in your path. And Vanessa and Bryan are in my path. So I would like to help them.
Could you see your way to donating $1or $2 to this fund? I’ve seen this method work wonders for the rescue I work with. I know we could be a success. And if you can help more, I will be running a drawing for anyone who donates $20. The prize will be a Staycation Massage from me. It’s basically 2 and a half hours of massage bliss. You can find its full description here. And I will be sure to close out the donation page as soon as we hit $500 so that your chance of winning is as good as can be.
Thank you for reading this and thank you to all of you who will help. We can’t bring Molly back. (How can something you love so much be gone in an instant?) But we can ease their burden fairly gracefully.
Peace and good things,
Eliza.
